This spot no longer exists in reality, but it used to be a real place around the turn of the century. The place shown in the scene was one of the very first places in Eindhoven where I went to live when I moved out of my parent’s house in my early twenties.
I built this room partially from memory, but luckily I also had a couple of old photographs and webcam-recordings made with one of the very first commercially available webcams. I decided to post one of these videos right here below, just for the lolz. I’ve scaled up the dimensions of the video by 200%, and then another 200% is used when playing the file, but unfortunately the resolution is still extremely low.
I exported this model to Unity and performed some required tasks before I could upload it as a custom world to VRChat. From within VRChat this room can be entered. I showed this VR version to old friends, and they said it took them right back to those days.
